The Preschool at Qadir Nagar High School is based on Maria Montessori's philosophy and teaching methods. It is a 3-to-6-year-old environment that caters to children of all socio-economic backgrounds, incorporating and celebrating our moral values and cultural heritage.
Following Maria Montessori's philosophy, we focus on hands-on learning through Montessori apparatus for Mathematics and Language, as well as sensorial development and refinement, which leads to the child's holistic growth. A strong emphasis is also placed on language development in both English and Urdu, with reading introduced through phonics and alphabet recognition, as well as using Pashto (the local mother tongue) as one of the languages of the environment. We promote independence and self-esteem through freedom of choice and Exercises of Practical Life (EPL), ensuring these children become responsible adults who actively participate in the betterment of their society and nation.
Daily mealtime is an integral part of learning: children joyfully serve snacks themselves, place mats on the tables, and learn the values of care, order, and cooperation, adding to their personality and character development. They are provided with milk and dates, fruit, or biscuits each day, reinforcing healthy habits and a sense of gratitude.
Our Cultural Area, which includes science, history, and geography, is taught through hands-on activities, storytelling and arts-and-crafts projects, giving the students the opportunity to express their creativity and problem-solving skills, which is also reinforced with various events and exhibitions.
Thus, UPS provides a rich and balanced educational foundation where every child is empowered to grow creatively, socially, and intellectually for a fulfilling future.
At UPS, we believe in nurturing love for our country from the very beginning of a child’s educational journey. Each year, our little learners joyfully celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day with enthusiasm and pride. The Montessori classrooms come alive with green and white decorations, while children wear dresses adorned with Pakistan’s flags and badges to mark the special occasion.
